Many have said that Romania is the place where European democracy went to die after the Liberal-Globalist establishment and the judiciary did the unthinkable, canceling the first round of elections due to unproven allegations of a Russian influence operation in social media platforms. Subsequently, the powers that be went even further, barring absolute favorite Calin Georgescu from running in the May re-elections. But Romania does seem to have greater resilience than we imagined because, after all that, another right-wing candidate is leading the opinion polls.
