Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pete Buttigieg are the top three frontrunners in a new 2028 Democrat presidential primary poll. The Yale Youth poll of registered voters had Harris in the lead with 28 percent, followed by Ocasio-Cortez with 21 percent, and Buttigieg with 14 percent. California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has long been rumored to have presidential aspirations, did not manage to crack double digits, with just six percent support. The pollsters report, “We found that a plurality of Democrats (and Democratic-leaning independents) would vote for former Vice President Kamala Harris (27.5%) if the 2028 Democratic primary were held today.
