Former OneRepublic bass player Tim Myers has announced that he is running for Congress in California as a Democrat. Myers will be challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Ken Calvert in California’s 41st District, Riverside County. The musician announced his political aspirations in a video posted to Instagram on Thursday. “I’m a pastor’s son who grew up learning how to stretch a dollar in Corona, California. I turned a love of music into a career,” Myers says in the video. “I saw how the industry took advantage of people, so I built a business that puts artists first.
