US Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Tuesday that federal authorities have seized roughly three million fentanyl pills, totaling 11.5 kilograms, in “the largest seizure in our nation’s history.” The deadly synthetic opioid, which is up to 50 times more potent than heroin, is mainly manufactured in China and smuggled into the US by drug cartels. It is often mixed into counterfeit pills, causing unsuspecting individuals to overdose. Under Biden, fentanyl became the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45. This comes after Bondi announced last week that over 22 million fentanyl-laced pills had been seized in Trump’s first 100 days in office.
