Bessent was invited to testify today before the House Financial Services Committee regarding the state of the international finance system. The hearing comes as Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer are set to meet with a high-level Chinese delegation this weekend in Geneva, Switzerland, in the first major talks between the two countries since President Trump rightfully imposed stiff tariffs on Chinese imports. But Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) had no interest in such a critical event. Instead, Mad Maxine sought to embarrass Bessent over the work DOGE is doing to save Americans billions of taxpayer dollars….
