Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville reacted to the Democrat primary win of the far left radical Zohran Mamdani in the New York mayoral race during an appearance on the ‘Politicon’ podcast this week. Carville called it a ‘potentially damaging event’ and seemed to lament the fact that Democrats could no longer dodge the socialist label. Anyone who remembers the 2008 election will recall how Democrats would foam at the mouth if anyone called Obama a socialist. Today, a sizable portion of the Democrat party openly describes themselves as Democratic Socialists. That is the faction to which Mamdani belongs.
