Spain has joined ultra-progressive globalist strongholds like California in penalizing parents who oppose gender transition ‘treatments’ for their children. On June 25, 2025, a controversial amendment to the Spanish Penal Code introduced up to two years of imprisonment for parents, doctors, psychologists, or educators who resist so-called “affirmative therapies” for minors. The 2025 amendment expands Spain’s 2023 “Trans Law,” which sought “real and effective equality for trans people.” The earlier law allowed those 16 and older to change their legal gender without medical or parental oversight. Those aged 14–16 needed parental consent, while 12–14 required judicial approval.
