Former Congressman George Santos will report for prison on Friday. Santos, who last year plead guilty to identity theft and wire fraud and was sentenced to seven years in prison, said he is not expecting a pardon from President Trump. “I don’t think he can,” Santos told POLITICO when asked about the possibility of the president granting clemency. “He’s in a position where he needs to put the country ahead of one man, and that’s just a fact. ”He would lose support in the House from Republicans who have already capitulated.” The 37-year-old said he “would not waver” in his support for this administration. Back in April, Santos had pleaded with Trump for a pardon on the grounds that his sentenced had been “politically influenced.”…
