As Vulture reported, Colbert is having to settle for a guest ‘star’ turn on CBS’s popular dramedy, Elsbeth, which stars actress Carrie Preston. He will appear as the host of a late-night talk show called Way Late with Scotty Bristol. The outlet notes that it’s unclear when Colbert agreed to ‘star’ in the “The Good Wife” spinoff, but he told Elsbeth co-star Wendell Pierce on The Late Show in February that he wanted to appear on the show at some point.
