Americans are being warned not to eat, sell, or serve certain Great Value raw frozen shrimp sold at Walmart after toxic levels of radioactive Cesium‑137 were detected in one sample. Cs-137 is a man-made radioactive isotope produced in nuclear reactions. The isotope has been linked to long-term health risks including cancer, genetic damage, and organ failure when consumed in significant quantities over time. According to the FDA’s press release, the dangerous product is Great Value brand raw frozen shrimp, imported from Indonesia’s BMS Foods and distributed to Walmart stores across 13 states.
