Over the past several days, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and county deputies across mid-Missouri reported a busy stretch of arrests, ranging from high-speed pursuits and felony warrants to numerous cases of impaired driving. The following is a roundup of arrests from area counties, with the most serious incidents leading the list.

Boone County

In Boone County, law enforcement handled some of the most dangerous situations of the week. Early Monday morning, Christian Compton, 19, of Columbia, led troopers on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of more than 130 miles per hour before being taken into custody. He now faces charges including aggravated fleeing, excessive speeding, and careless and imprudent driving.

The weekend also saw a serious wrong-way crash on a divided highway. Troopers say Ibukunoluwa O. Oluwabiyi, 20, of Rolla, was driving intoxicated in the early hours of August 24, colliding head-on and causing injuries. He was treated at University Hospital before being released.

Several other impaired driving arrests were reported in Boone. Michelle M. Awaranti, 35, of Columbia, was booked for DWI, speeding, and littering. Just hours later, Norris J. Wall, 37, of Columbia, was charged with DWI and careless driving after a crash, while Drew A. Smith, 38, of Columbia, was also arrested on a DWI charge the same weekend.

Boone deputies also carried out warrant arrests. On August 22, Sade M. Hodges, 39, of Columbia, was jailed on a Cooper County warrant for failure to appear on a speeding charge. That same day, Kendra L. Bittle, 37, of Hallsville, was arrested following a crash, accused of DWI, failing to drive on the right half of the road, and not wearing a seat belt.

Two high-profile felony cases also unfolded in the county. Tye N. Fogle, 33, of Hannibal, was picked up on Marion County felony warrants for domestic assault and burglary. She remains held without bond. And in a separate case, Kimberly D. Schnieders, 35, of Boonville, was arrested on a Benton County warrant for statutory sodomy, in addition to charges of incest and child endangerment. She was booked into the Boone County Jail.

The week closed with Caleb D. Bogus, 24, of Hallsville, being cited for DWI and speeding, then released on summons.

Pettis County

Meanwhile in Pettis County, deputies dealt with a string of serious traffic and felony cases. On August 23, Darien M. McKinley, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested on felony charges of resisting arrest and operating without a valid driver’s license. Just hours later, Gustavo Armendariz, 38, of Sedalia, was booked into jail on multiple felony counts, including forgery, identity theft, and driving without a license. He also faces insurance and roadway violations.

Other arrests included Jeffrey S. Weber, 50, of Hollister, who was held on aggravated DWI, and Felipe Vasquez-Angeles, 44, of Kansas City, Kansas, who was charged with DWI, driving without a license, and failing to remain on the right half of the road.

Troopers also cited younger drivers in Pettis County. Andrew T. Staus, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested for DWI, speeding, and lane violations, while Ruben Rico-Martinez, 37, of Powder Springs, Georgia, was booked for DWI and driving while suspended. Both were later released.

Macon County

North of there, Macon County deputies were also busy. On August 24, Dominguez B. Jose Guadalupe, 24, of Waterloo, Iowa, was jailed on a list of charges including DWI, driving while revoked (second offense), and no insurance.

Two days earlier, deputies arrested Cody A. Laws, 35, of Bucklin, on a Linn County felony warrant for resisting arrest and armed criminal action. He is being held with no bond. That same evening, Steven J. Harre, 65, of Bevier, was cited for DWI as a prior offender, along with careless driving and using electronics while behind the wheel.

Saline County

Elsewhere in the region, Saline County deputies reported a felony DWI crash. Authorities say Jennifer R. Botteron, 43, of Warsaw, was intoxicated when she caused a wreck on August 21 that resulted in serious injuries. She was also cited for careless driving and marijuana possession before being released from jail.

Sullivan County

In Sullivan County, Marvin D. Alspach, 67, of Browning, was arrested late on August 23. A persistent DWI offender, Alspach was charged again with intoxicated driving, along with speeding and drinking alcohol while driving. He was later released.

Livingston County

Livingston County deputies reported two impaired driving cases with unusual circumstances. On August 22, Cristian M. Rodriguez, 22, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs while a child under 17 was in his vehicle. He also received a speeding citation before being released to a sober driver. Two days later, Aaron R. Franklin, 51, of Montrose, was arrested for DWI and speeding and released in the same manner.

Ray County

In Ray County, James E. Gentry, 37, of Richmond, was arrested on August 23 for aggravated DWI, speeding, and driving without a valid license. He remains held on a 24-hour hold. Deputies also arrested Elizabeth A. Dennis, 34, of Kansas City, the day before on a Clay County misdemeanor warrant.

Shelby County
