Zohran Mamdani, the Democrat Socialist frontrunner in New York City’s mayoral race, has built his campaign around promises of rent freezes, free bus service, and a city-run grocery system.  But while his platform is marketed as a local, working-class agenda, new filings reveal that a majority of his campaign money is coming from far beyond the five boroughs.
