Emma Louise (Cunningham) Lalik, 89, a resident of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.
Emma was born on August 11, 1936, the daughter of Harvey and Haveleen Florence (Bailey) Cunningham. On March 3, 1957, Emma was united in marriage to E. Thomas Lalik; he preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by: two sons, Michael Thomas Lalik and Earl T Lalik; daughter, Lola Florence Lalik Towne; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Patricia Lourea Lalik Dailey, and her six siblings, Doris Pauline Cunningham Aleaya, Hoy Cunningham, James H. Cunningham, Leo Cunningham, Vonda C. Harrelson, and Elizabeth E. Kirpatrick.
Emma was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She had a sweet tooth and loved her candy and could spend hours looking through old photographs and reminiscing about special memories. She enjoyed collecting trinkets and “whatnots,” always finding joy in the little things that made her smile. Emma also loved to bake and share her treats with family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family suggests memorial contribution be sent to Shriner’s Burn Center. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home P.O. Box 507 East Main St./P.O. Box 190 Richmond, MO 64085.
A visitation with funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M.
