Mamdani has made his feelings about the police very clear, and, in particular, some NYPD officers are concerned about what this means for their future. The Gateway Pundit reported on Mamdani’s disdain for police, which has not been subtle. In 2020, at the height of the Black Lives Matter riots across the country, Mamdani described the NYPD as “racist, anti-queer, and a major threat to public safety.” ”NO to fake cuts – defund the police,” he wrote at the time….
