Fourteen people, including student athletes, have been indicted in a mob-tied sports betting and illegal gambling ring in New Jersey, the New Jersey Attorney General announced on Thursday. The New Jersey Attorney General’s office identified 55 55-year-old Joseph M. “Little Joe” Perna of Fairfield, New Jersey, as the head of the illegal operation.
