Born July 22, 1967, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Frank William Makings and Mary Anna Johnson Dyer. Staci lived in Marshall most of her life and was a 1984 graduate of Marshall High School and then attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She helped manage her mom’s restaurant, The Daily Grind, in Marshall until she suffered a stroke and was no longer able to work.
