Joyce Ann Stimpson, age 83, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, and former resident of Laredo, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her residence.
Joyce was born the daughter of Emery and Mildred (Snyder) Ishmael, on July 16, 1942 in Ashton, Missouri. She was a 1960 graduate of Laredo High School, Laredo, Missouri. Joyce was united in marriage to Walter E. Stimpson on November 7, 1960 in Laredo, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2007.
Joyce was the City Clerk for Laredo, retiring after 25 years. She was also a member of the Laredo Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time tending her flower gardens. She liked to crochet and work on puzzles. Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren, they were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her three sons, Harold Stimpson (Debbie) of Gallatin, Missouri, Daniel Stimpson (Vickie) of Trenton, Missouri, Joseph Stimpson (Debbie) of Trenton, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosie Ishmael of Kansas City, Kansas, Pat Ishmael of Charleston, South Carolina, and Marilyn Ishmael of Kansas City, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; grandson, Terry Stimpson; one sister, Lois Jean Duckworth; and three brothers, Rex Harland Ishmael, Wendell Lynn Ishmael and Lowell Stimpson.
A cremation was held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Wounded Warrior Project and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
