Soon after Swalwell was referred to the Department of Justice over mortgage fraud allegations by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte. He has made similar referrals against high-ranking democratic officials involved in mortgage fraud, including New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Senator Adam Schiff. After declaring for California governor last Thursday, in an apparent effort to save his campaign, today Swalwell filed a civil lawsuit against Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte alleging violations of the Privacy Act and First Amendment.
