Jerry Elmer McLin, age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his residence.
Jerry was born the son of Jesse and Anna Grace (Darr) McLin on December 21, 1942 in Sullivan County, Missouri. He was a 1960 graduate of Newtown High School. He was united in marriage to Karen Dawn Bell on December 31, 1964, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2020.
Jerry was a United States Navy Veteran, having served from 1960 to 1963. Jerry retired from Donaldson’s after 44 years. After retirement, he worked for Woody’s Automotive, transporting vehicles. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, coon hunting and mushroom hunting. He loved a good fish fry and playing cards. He also liked watching NASCAR races, sprint car races at Osborn and the Kansas City Chiefs. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren, they were his greatest joy.
Survivors include one daughter Anne Anderson and husband Mark of Dawn, Missouri; three grandchildren, Marley Anderson of Overland Park, Kansas, Mack Anderson of Dawn, Missouri, and Morgan Anderson of Dawn, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Jennifer McLin of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Judy Tudor of Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Connie Bell of Burlington, Iowa, David and Sandy Walker of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Larry and Wanda Robinson of Trenton, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen; one son, Michael McLin; one grandson, Tye Anderson; brother, Dale Eugene McLin; two sisters, Jean Maloney and Jess Ann Tolle.
Family and friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Welsh Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Welsh Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
