Raymond Edward Hughes, age 93, of Bucklin, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at his residence.

Raymond was born on September 14, 1932, in Bucklin, Missouri, the son of Fred Hughes and Josie (Burk) Hughes. He was a lifelong resident of the Bucklin area and a 1950 graduate of Bucklin R-II High School.

On January 6, 1979, Raymond was united in marriage to LeVeta “Susan” Davis. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2001. He later married Edna LeNell Douglas on Jan. 20, 2002 she also preceded him in death on Oct.16, 2017 In addition to his wives, Raymond was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leroy Hughes and Richard Hughes; and one sister, Frances Bigger.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honored with military rites. He was a longtime farmer, working his own farm and dedicating his life to the land he loved.

He enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found mowing or clearing snow with his John Deere tractor/gator. Raymond especially cherished time spent farming alongside his brothers. He enjoyed going to area high school basketball games. He was a faithful member of Bucklin United Methodist Church and a member of the Bucklin American Legion Post No. 57.

Survivors include five stepchildren: Patricia Lloyd (Gordon) of Tacoma, Washington; Robert Davis (Lori) of Bucklin, Missouri; Nancy Casady (Richard) of Bucklin, Missouri; Donald Douglas II (Susan) of Macon, Missouri; and Denise Jacobs (Randy) of Linneus, Missouri; grandchildren: Aeron Lloyd, Nathan Davis (Jill), Caleb Casady (Kelsey), Paige Knott (Danan), Lee Douglas (Megan), Dade Douglas (Shelby), Donovan Douglas (Casey), Jamison Jacobs, Jasmine Jonson (Ron), Julia Jacobs, and Jace Jacobs; fifteen great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin, with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Bucklin Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bucklin Masonic Cemetery or Bucklin United Methodist Church.
