The Justice Department fired one of the top lawyers in the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia after he refused to pursue charges against James Comey following a decision from a judge to toss out the case. Robert McBride, the number 2 official in the EDVA, was fired A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted former FBI Director James Comey in September. He was indicted on two counts – false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding. However, Comey’s case is dismissed – for now.
