Wilma Ruth Grett, 75, of Marceline, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, January 18, 2026, at the Pioneer Skilled Nursing Facility in Marceline.
Wilma was born on March 3, 1950, in rural Chariton County, Missouri, to John Bills Payne and Viola (Bettis) Payne.
Wilma attended Marceline High School and was a devoted homemaker and stay-at-home mother. She found joy in the outdoors and simple pleasures, especially fishing, riding horses, riding motorcycles, and spending quality time with those she loved most.
She was a woman of faith and attended Laclede Baptist Church in Laclede, Missouri.
Wilma is survived by her beloved daughter, Robin Houren of Omaha, Nebraska; her sisters, Marilyn Camlen (Sam) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Wanda Dodge of Laclede, Missouri; her twin brother, Wilbur Payne (Willa) of Wheatland, Missouri; her brothers, Donald Payne of Laclede, Missouri, and Vernon Payne of Bucklin, Missouri; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Payne; her sisters, Carolyn Scott and Freda Hulett; and her brothers, Wendall Payne and Gerald Payne.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Delaney Funeral Home at 11:00a.m., with Joe Wright officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Locke Cemetery in Marceline, Missouri.
Wilma will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, and the deep devotion she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
