Jack Kassen Verts, 92, of rural Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to New Salem Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Born January 11, 1934, in Boonville, MO, he was the son of the late Ned Lee Verts and Mattie Katheryn Smith Verts. On December 14, 1994, he married Sue Faye Brockert who survives of the home. Jack had lived in the rural Saline County area most of his life and was a farmer. He always did what was needed to earn a living, so in addition to farming he also managed restaurants, did carpentry work, as well as working at Con-Agra for 20 years. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church at Marshall Junction.

In addition to his wife, Sue; he is survived by children: Kathleen Munroe (John) of Nelson, Schanz L. Verts of Nelson, Melinda Cornine (Gene) of Houstonia, Vada Kays (Jim) of Nelson, Ronald King (MeChelle) of Mandyville, and Michelle Wren (Sam) of Mexico; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchildren.
