Amidst the increased scrutiny of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minnesota, Bates attempted to draw sympathy by referencing the death of 8-year-old Anadith Danay Reyes Alvarez, who died in Border Patrol custody in an X post.
