Sharen was born on June 24, 1942, 7 miles North of Mountain Grove, Missouri (North Star Route), to Lloyd C. and Clayta Louise (McAllister) Edwards. In 1960, she graduated from Odessa R-7 High School. On August 26, 1960, Sharen married Robert “Bob” L. Green. at the Methodist Church in Odessa, MO. While building the home they currently live in, she tended and cared for the home and was proud to call herself a farmer’s wife. Bob went on to work several other jobs before becoming a backhoe operator for B.F. Sanders. When Mr. Sanders retired, Bob and Sharen bought his backhoe and trencher to start Green’s Backhoe and Trenching. Sharen was an active member of New Horizon Presbyterian Church of Odessa. Sharen found happiness in the little things. She had a passion for traveling in her camper with Bob, making lasting memories along the way. Her spirit shone brightly during her lunch outings with her Old Hens Clubs, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance. An avid bird lover, Sharen lovingly cared for the feathered friends that visited her home, especially hummingbirds.
Sharen is survived by a son, Rex Green; two granddaughters, Heather Green of Blue Springs, MO and Jaclynn “Jaci” Green and significant other, Dakota Proctor of Independence, MO; one grandson, Logan Green of Odessa, MO; a great-grandson, Brayden Kirk of Blue Springs, MO; and many relatives and friends.
Along with both her parents and loving husband of 63 years, Sharen was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Green; and a grandson, Arron Specker.
