Lawrence “Joe” Joseph Saale, Jr., age 81, a Chillicothe, Missouri resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Joe was born the fourth child of eleven, to Lawrence Joseph and Frances Helen (Garber) Saale, on April 10, 1944 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1962 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Joe was united in marriage to Kay Urich on May 21, 1967, at Liberty Chapel Christian Church, Trenton, Missouri. They spent nearly 60 years together. She survives of the home.

Joe was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a retired farm laborer and truck driver. Joe enjoyed reading the newspaper every morning. He also enjoyed visiting with friends over a cup of coffee. Joe loved spending time with his family, they were his joy.

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; one son, Alex Saale and wife, Brandie of Harrisburg, Missouri; two daughters, Sondra Summers and husband, Travis of Hale, Missouri and Laura Barrett and husband, Michael of Waverly, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Shaylee Summers, Tug Summers, Andrew Warner, Cody Warner, Michael Barrett, Lewis Saale and Lexi Saale; two great grandchildren, Myer and Emry; four brothers, Pete Saale of Chillicothe, Missouri, Jim Saale and wife, Kay of Chillicothe, Missouri, John Saale of Platte City, Missouri and David Saale and wife, Lieschen of Madill, Oklahoma; three sisters, Rose Douglass and husband, Steve of Chillicothe, Missouri, Doris Saale of Brookfield, Missouri and Vicki Smith and husband, David of Smithville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Trey; and three sisters, Betty Jones, Donna Terry and Wanda Hesler.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at Stucker Cemetery, Laredo, Missouri.
