Nakia “Nick” Lee Taber, 50, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Monday, February 23, 2026, in Sweet Springs, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs with Jeremy Eckhoff officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Born January 2, 1976, in Sedalia, MO, Nick was the son of Henry Thomas Taber and Connie Jo (Hall) Taber. Nick married Taira Kristine Donnell on June 21, 2014. He loved motorcycle riding, drinking beer and hanging with family and friends. He was a member of the Shockers Motorcycle Club, and he worked in construction for many years with Jared Bernard. The family said, “Nick was Nick!!”

Survivors include his wife, Taira Taber, of the home; four children: Tiffany Taber (Kris) of Dalton, GA, Rebecca Blackerby (Aaron) of Marshall, MO, Bonnie Herrick and Aryan Donnell both of Sweet Springs; father, Henry (Hank) T. Taber Jr. and Carol Taber of Sweet Springs; five grandchildren: Zakary, Hazel, Ivy, Rumor and Adley; his siblings: Tracie Dillon (Bryan) of Sweet Springs, Samantha Hutchison (David) of Sweet Springs, Randy Winstead (Chelsea) of Nelson, MO, Brittany Boothe (Jason) of Garnett, KS, Bethany Berryman (Carlton) of Sweet Springs, Eddie Winstead (Samantha) of Sweet Springs, Colline Melies (Mike) of Sweet Springs, and Ashley Hauser (Taylor) of Macon, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Jo Hall.
