Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman A Venezuelan migrant was taken into custody for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of a Loyola University student. Very early Thursday morning, 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed near campus. A masked gunman approached a group of students walking in Rogers Park and opened fire. Gorman was shot in the head and died at the scene. Earlier Saturday, WGN reported that a person of interest was taken into custody.
