Early in the morning of March 20, 2026 Heaven gained another angel, Floyd Benjamin “Ben” Davis.
Warren and Gladys Davis, welcomed their 5th child, Floyd “Ben” Davis into this world on March 22, 1946. On May 27, 1966 He married the love of his life and best friend, Linda Staton. They were married 59 years.
Ben was a Baptist by faith and attended McCroskie Creek Baptist Church.
He started working at the young age of 16, at Biltmore Homes. He continued working in the carpentry field or some form for his entire life. Ben retired from Carrollton School District, where he worked in maintenance. He then worked part time at Valley View apartments. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Most that knew him might say he was a bit ornery. He loved to argue, even when he knew he was wrong.
He was preceded in death by infant twin daughters Susan and Sally Davis, his parents Warren and Gladys Davis, father and mother in law Earl and Bonnie Staton, sister Shirley Dysart, brothers; Wesley Davis, Roger Davis, Denny Davis, brothers in law Wayne Dysart and Danny Allen, sisters in law Nina Davis and Joyce Davis, and niece Donna Allen.
Ben is survived by his wife Linda of the home, daughter Teri Ward of Carrollton, Missouri, son Todd (Amy) of Chillicothe, Missouri, grandchildren; Ashley (Zack) Mathis, Suzanne Ward, Alyssa (Stephen) Davis, and Kyle Davis, great-grandchildren; Keera, Bella, Logan and Derrek, brothers; Pat Davis Kenny (Ellen) Davis, Steve Davis and Nubbin (Kim) Davis, sisters in law Sondra Davis and Patricia Davis, along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Honoring Ben’s wishes, he will be cremated with no services. He was honored with a fish fry for family and friends, and his birthday, which he missed by only 2 days.
