Cole Allen, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter who was charged with the attempted assassination of President Trump, has been placed on “suicide precautions” in the DC jail. Allen’s attorneys argued that placing their client on suicide precautions is unnecessary and violates his rights. “Cole Tomas Allen, through undersigned counsel, respectfully requests this Honorable Court order the Department of Corrections (DOC) at the D.C. Jail to remove Mr. Allen from suicide precautions,” Allen’s lawyers wrote. “Mr. Allen’s placement on suicide watch and suicide precautions amount to violations of his rights under the Due Process Clause to the U.S. Constitution,” they said.
