The United Kingdom has raised its national terrorism threat level from “substantial” (an attack is likely) to “severe” (an attack is highly likely). This is the second-highest level on the scale and the first time it has reached “severe” in over four years. In the threat level notice, MI5, the United Kingdom’s domestic counter-intelligence and security agency, referenced the recent stabbing of two Jewish men in North London.
