Vickie Smith, 66, of Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Sweet Springs, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs with William W. Harlow officiating. There is no visitation. Born December 19, 1959, in Sedalia, MO, she was the daughter of the late James Edwin Smith and Dorothy Mae Jansen Smith. Vickie was raised in the Sweet Springs area where she was a 1978 graduate of Sweet Springs High School, and then earned a degree in accounting from State Fair Community College in Sedalia. Vickie’s work career was spent as a bookkeeper with many of those years working for the Warrensburg School District. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs.
Survivors include three sisters, Marsha Klussman of Teutopolis, IL, Susan Golden (Jim) of Liberty, MO, and Darla Elliott of Kansas City, MO; eight nieces and nephews: Jim Klussman (Nicole), Karen Powers (Chris), Kimberly Meyer (Jake), Kathy Reboul (Jeff), Rachael Golden, Dustin Perguson, Danielle Elliott, and Cameron Elliott; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by one brother, James D. Smith.
