Scott Wohlgemuth, 81, of Mendon, MO; passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at his home.

Scott was born on June 15, 1944, to the late Norman and LaVerna (Storm) Wohlgemuth in Kansas City, MO. Scott graduated from Bosworth High School with the class of 1962. After graduation he joined the United States Army, where he honorably served during the Vietnam era. On January 1, 1966, he married Irma Diane O’Dell in Hale, MO; she preceded him in death on January 26, 2024.

Scott was a lifelong farmer and was dedicated to working his land throughout his life. Scott was very proud that he was able to pass on his extensive knowledge of farming to his son, Ron who worked beside his dad on the family farm for the past several years. In addition to farming, Scott was the owner / operator of Wohlgemuth Garage in Mendon, MO; where he became known for his quality work and willingness to help others.

Scott enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with his family, visiting with friends, tending to his farm, reading his Bible, and daily devotions. Scott attended the Christian Church in Mendon. He enjoyed traveling with his wife which include all 50 states, 58 countries, and all 7 continents. Scott loved relaxing at the lake and taking boat rides.

Scott is survived by his two sons, Ron Wohlgemuth (Diane) of Brookfield, MO. and Brian Wohlgemuth (Mel) of Pella, IA; six grandchildren, Charlie, Sally, Jo, Jason, Megan, and Suzie; one sister, Joyce Allen of Macon, MO; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Irma Diane Wohlgemuth; and his sister, Norma Kane.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO. with Pastor Larry Reeter officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Mendon Cemetery, Mendon, MO. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, with family receiving friends from 1:00 pm. until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. at the Rhodes Funeral Home.
