James M. “Jim” Hazell Sr., 91, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Legendary Health Care Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with Rev. Joey DeGonia and William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born June 4, 1935, in Blackwater, he was the son of the late William Martin Hazell and Mary Etta Duncan Hazell. On December 24, 1954, he married Ruby Johnson who survives of the home. Jim was a lifelong truckdriver and retired from Hahn and Phillips in Marshall. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Ruby; he is survived by one son, James M. “Jim” Hazell Jr. (Kim) of Sedalia; son-in-law, John Dice of Marshall; four grandchildren: Joe Dice (Jamie), Sarah Dice (Griffin), Scot Hazell (Kelley), and Stefani Rudd (Ryan); 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Jane Green of Boonville; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Winona Lea Dice; four brothers: Ray, Earl, Bernie, and J.W. Hazell; and two sisters, Betty Korte and Georgia Hunter.
