Raymond Boss, a man known for his unwavering work ethic, strong hands, and generous heart, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the age of 81. He was born on June 18, 1945 in Salisbury, MO. He was one of eight children born to Arsene and Elizabeth (Weinhaus) Boss. On June 10, 1978 he married Naomi Harman. Together they were blessed with 48 years of marriage.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Salisbury, MO. Raymond served in the United States Army Reserves as a medic- state side. Raymond started pole barn building for a company in Iowa. He built many buildings across northern Missouri. In the 70’s he decided to start his own business of pole barn building. In 1982 he started a lumberyard, Bossville Wholesalers Inc., providing pole barn materials and manufacturing trusses for contractors and do-it- yourselfers. Raymond successfully operated a farrow-to-finish hog operation in the 70’s through the 90’s. In recent years he operated a cow-calf operation along with Josh, his son-in-law. His hobbies include trapping, especially bobcats, fishing, hunting, woodworking, riding motorcycles and being with family. Throughout his life, Raymond believed that hard work was one of life’s greatest virtues. Whether he was building pole barns, managing his lumberyard/truss manufacturing business or caring for his livestock he took pride in doing every job well.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to LaVena Jones for the exceptional care, love, and companionship provided to Raymond and for his family over the last two years and six months.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Naomi Boss; one child Bobbie (Josh) Biere of Salisbury, MO; one grandson, Trace Biere-his pride and joy; two brothers Clarence Boss, Johnny (Dorothy) Boss both of Salisbury, MO; two sisters, Mildred Monnig of Brunswick, MO, and Lucille (Leonard) Gladbach of Mendon, MO; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by three sisters, Delores Long, Rita Fuemmeler, Mary Lou Rodgers and brother Ervin Joseph Boss.

Visitation is Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 9 – 11:00 a.m., at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, with Mass of Christian burial following at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Cemetery Foundation, St. Mary’s Cemetery or St. Jude

Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral services entrusted to Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, MO.
