Dennis Melvin Famuliner, 72, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away July 3, 2026, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Dennis was born November 12, 1953, in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Sherman and Jean Famuliner. He attended Wakenda Elementary School and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1972.
Dennis was a grain and livestock farmer. After the Great Flood of 1993, he expanded into land reclamation and earthmoving, eventually performing reclamation work in Missouri, Texas, and New Mexico.
A devoted husband, Dennis enjoyed watching and attending University of Missouri football games alongside his wife, taking the long way home when traveling, drinking coffee, and watching Westerns. He made his family a priority and selflessly focused on helping those who needed him most.
Dennis was active in his community and privately supported many organizations in Carroll County, contributing his time and resources to groups working to better the area. Among his efforts, he helped secure land and funding for a livestock arena and was active in its construction. The arena was used by local FFA and 4-H chapters and others to host horse shows, cattle roping, and rodeos.
He was a natural leader and served on many boards throughout his life, including:

– Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association (President)
– Wakenda School Board (President)
– Carrollton Municipal Airport Board (Officer)
– Carrollton Township Board (Officer)
– Levee Board (Officer)
– United Methodist Church of Carrollton (Member)
– Little League coach
– Founding member of the Beef and Pork Palace
He received awards for his contributions to soil conservation and wildlife management.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Famuliner; daughter Aubrey Michele Famuliner; grandson Augustus Monroe Finkeldei, all of Carrollton; brother Donald Joe Famuliner of Wakenda; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Martha, and sister-in-law Kelli.
