Robert William “Bob” Hunter, 81, of rural Marshall, MO, died Saturday, July 25, 2026, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Graveside services will follow in Miller’s Chapel Cemetery in rural Pettis County, with William W. Harlow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Miller’s Chapel Cemetery or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born December 8, 1944, in Sedalia, he was the son of the late Clyde Hunter Sr. and Florene English Hunter. Bob lived in the Saline and Pettis County areas most of his life and was a 1962 graduate of Marshall High School. On August 28, 1975, he married Elizabeth “Liz” “Betty” Crain who survives of the home. In addition to farming, Bob worked for many years at Fletcher Grain Company and then for the City of Marshall. He also served his community by being a member of the Army National Guard and serving on the Arrow Rock Fire Department for nearly 20 years before retiring as Chief of the department. Bob is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; two sons, Jerry Wayne Hunter (Tabatha) of Marshall, and Jason Allen Hunter (Alicia) of Slater; grandchildren: Jacob Robert Hunter, Mackenzie Elizabeth Hunter, and Skylee Marie Hunter; one brother, Roy Hunter (Susan) of Marshall; one sister, Donna Watson of Sturgeon; extended family: Lillian Michelle Stevens, Natalie Marie Nicole Stevens, Bethany Wade March, Benjamin March, Hannah Mauzey, Mason Hunter; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one son, Timothy J. Hunter; three brothers: Clyde Hunter, James Hunter, and Henry Hunter; and two sisters, Mary Fletcher and Irene Viebrock.
