Robert “Bob” Wayne Parker, 85, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Bob was born on July 28, 1941, in Lexington, Missouri, to Raymond and Nettie (Wood) Parker. A lifelong hard worker and proud American, Bob served his country honorably in the United States Navy for four years before continuing his service with the Missouri Army National Guard for another 19 years. His dedication to serving others was an important part of who he was.

After his military service, Bob spent 35 years working at Lyon’s Dye Casting Co. in Buckner, Missouri, where he was a Tool and Die Maker. Bob took pride in his work and in being someone who could use his hands, his knowledge, and his creativity to make things right.

Those who knew Bob will remember him as a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his family and friends. He loved woodworking and enjoyed working on projects that allowed him to create something with his own hands. He was also an avid collector of just about anything, and his collections were a reflection of his curiosity and the many things that caught his eye over the years. Bob had a way of finding something interesting in the ordinary and enjoyed sharing those interests with the people around him.

Above all, Bob was a family man. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will miss his presence, his stories, and the unique personality that made him who he was.

Bob is survived by his three children, Daniel Parker, Sr. of Raytown, Missouri, Lucresia James of Olathe, Kansas, and Teresa (Ron) Hewins of Ottawa, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Courtney) Parker, Jr., Stephanie (Isaac) Preston, Breanna Parker, Nick Parker, Crystal Kuttler (Paul Coggeshall), Cavary James, Elijah (Ashley) Perry, and Mathias Sedlack; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Parker of Raytown, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Carol Parker of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Parker; his sister, Deanna Due; and his brother, James Parker.

Bob’s life was one of service, hard work, family, and the many interests that brought him joy. While he will be deeply missed, the memories he created with those he loved will continue to live on through the generations of his family.
