Darrel Ray Ohrenberg, 65, of Lexington, MO, died Monday, August 17, 2026, at University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington with Pastor Bernard Ross officiating. Born August 2, 1961, in Lexington, MO, he was the son of the late Edward Louis “Joe” Ohrenberg and Marilyn R. Kempfe Ohrenberg. Darrel attended Trinity Lutheran School, graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1979, and CMSU with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. On June 25, 2016, in Warsaw, MO, he married Starla Hurr who survives of the home. His career was in sales and senior planning. Darrel had a love for old things and the hunt for a specific item was his drive. He loved antique lighting, old cars, remodeling and bringing things back to life. Darrel also enjoyed gardening and flowers, and he loved watching the Royals, Chiefs, Mizzou Tigers, CMSU Mules and all sports.
In addition to his wife, Starla, Darrel is survived by his sister, Angela Steffens (Myron) of Blackburn, MO; two nieces, Lisa Cline (Scott) and Sara Steffens; one great-nephew, Gavyn; two great-nieces, Aynslie and Eleanor; one brother-in-law, Roger Hurr of Warsaw, MO; and his special dogs, Daisy and Chloe.
