Fred Donald Phillips, 76, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away August 27, 2026 In Limerick, Ireland. A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM on Wednesday, Sept 9, 2026 at The First Christian Church of Carrollton, 205 N. Folger Street. A memorial service will follow at 10 AM, with a military graveside service at The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at 3:00 PM.

Mr. Phillips was born August 19, 1950 in Carrollton, Missouri to Clifford and Genevieve (Link) Phillips. He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1969. Following graduation he enlisted into the US Navy and served honorably as a Submariner. He was a member of The First Christian Church in Carrollton. He served on the OEI Board and was a member of The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton. He worked for ITS Logistics in Kansas City, loading train cars. He married Mary Jane (Berrey) Phillips on September 27, 2009. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, ice fishing and wood working. His travels took him to Iceland, Washington D.C., Royals Training Camp, a mission trip to Jamaica, a cruise to Mexico with Barnabas Prep, space camp and numerous fishing trips to an array of locations including; Minnesota, Alaska, Canada, Tennessee. When he was at home he was a staple at the restaurants of Carrollton, including Main Street, Burger Bar and El Toro.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Phillips, Sr. and Genevieve (Link) Phillips, a brother Clifford Phillips, Jr., sisters Saundra (Phillips) Gains and Judith (Phillips) Vanderford.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Phillips, his children; Fred Phillips, Jr., Eric Phillips, Renee Hardy, Douglas (Kristen) Phillips, and Stephanie (Kalin) Ralston, brothers Edwin (Cindy) Phillips, Robert (Ella) Phillips and sister in law Terry Phillips. Also surviving Fred are his 8 beloved grandchildren, and his special nieces Kara (Nathan) Forck and Katie Berrey along with a host of extended family and friends.

Memorials are asked to Carrollton Help Services Cancer Fund and can be given to the family dropped off at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Carrollton or mailed to the funeral home at 2 E.
