Dale Craig McDaniel, 76, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, September 11, 2026.
Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to St. Peter Catholic School in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born March 24, 1950, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Harold McDaniel and Marjorie Gillespie McDaniel. Dale graduated with the last graduating class at Mercy High School in 1968. On November 29, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Joy Walker, who survives of the home. Dale worked at Montgomery Ward in Sedalia for a short while and then for many years at Gibson’s in Marshall, until it closed, as the manager of sporting goods. After Gibson’s closed, he co-owned and operated Marshall Sports Headquarters for many years and then worked as the superintendent of Indian Foothills Golf Course until his retirement. Dale wasn’t happy if he wasn’t working, so after he retired, he continued to work part time at the golf course. He was a people person and always enjoyed being with, and playing golf with, his buddies at the golf course. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything related to the outdoors, as well as playing cards and pool. Dale was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 876.
In addition to his wife, Linda; he is survived by two sons, Craig McDaniel and Brian McDaniel, both of Marshall; one brother, Joe McDaniel (Robin) of Lee’s Summit; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marjorie; and two brothers in infancy, Randy and Michael.
