Romans 8:38-39
“…I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” You and I have been convinced of many things in this life, some of which we’ve depended on as though they were never-ending. Yet, have we learned to trust fully in God’s incredible promise? When the apostle Paul etched these verses on his papyrus, he did so under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Every word came straight from the heart of our heavenly Father, who wants us to understand the present reality of our hope in Jesus.
God’s tremendous love manifested itself in sacrificing His only Son for us. What power or force could possibly cause us to be separated from that love? Nothing! Death cannot, nor the allurements of this life. Devilish entities can try, but Jesus broke their power at the cross. It’s true that circumstances may separate us from our possessions, and conflict could break the bonds of families. But despite any separation we experience on earth, we are eternally secure in Christ Jesus, who died for us.
Paul’s assurance of God’s unfailing love enabled him to boldly confess, “If God is for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31). Are you likewise convinced? Because if you are, such security should inspire bright confidence right now. You can walk courageously into the future, unafraid of what tomorrow holds. And when life has run its course and your time is through, you will assuredly be ushered into the presence of God Almighty for all eternity.
Awaiting His Return,
