Psalm 34:4 “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
I can almost hear you asking, “Is this the same psalmist who gave us songs in the night? Isn’t this David who slew giants? But, here he approached his troubles by simply calling out to God?” Or are you wondering, Does the verse before me apply to my life? The answer is yes; a thousand times, yes! Like David, you and I can experience God’s same response to life’s biggest problems.
From his youth, David found God to be faithful. In times of isolation and separation from the noise of life, the shepherd boy conversed with God. How beautifully informal their dialogue must have been, even as David gazed at the heavens and saw God’s greatness. As a man, David was reminded of the strength God gave him to kill a bear and a lion threatening his flock. And how he later overcame the intimidation and bombastic terror of a giant Philistine barking profane, blasphemous words against the God of Israel. David’s life exposed him to many troubling challenges, yet looking back, he saw how God delivered him out of each one.
The constancy of God gives confidence that He will also rescue us out of any dilemma presently surrounding us. How He delivers, we must leave to Him, but that He will deliver is a certainty.
Whatever is before you today or in the future, rest assured that when we seek the Lord amidst difficult trials and testing, all things are put under His providential supervision. The next time something challenges your peace or attempts to dislodge your faith, know this: Your God will deliver you!
