As summer winds down, school districts across Chariton County are preparing for the 2025–2026 school year with student registration events, open houses, and the kickoff of Thunder Football season. Families in Keytesville, Brunswick, and Salisbury will have multiple opportunities in the coming days to get students registered, meet teachers, and gear up for a busy fall.

Keytesville R-III School District

Students entering grades 7–12 in the Keytesville R-III School District will register on August 7 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A back-to-school open house will follow on August 13 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, where families can visit classrooms, meet teachers, and enjoy complimentary hot dogs, chips, and drinks.

Thanks to the Keytesville PTO and generous donors, school supplies will be provided again this year. Parents are welcome to walk students to class on the first day of school. Doors open at 7:20 AM, with regular dismissal at 3:30 PM.

To stay informed, families are encouraged to join the district’s Remind groups for athletics and extracurricular updates. Codes for junior high football, high school cheerleading, girls softball, and more are available through the district’s social media.
