Brunswick R-II

The Brunswick Wildcats continue to make history! On Saturday, March 7, they defeated the Cairo Bearcats in the Class 1 quarterfinals with a score of 75-? and are now headed to the Final Four in Columbia on Friday, March 13. Students, staff, families, and community members are encouraged to travel to Columbia to cheer on the Wildcats. School will not be in session on March 13 to allow everyone the opportunity to attend.

The Brunswick Athletic Boosters are purchasing shirts for the boys team coaches, managers, players, mascot, and cheerleaders. Fans are reminded to wear red or team gear to show Wildcat pride!

The Brunswick FFA also hosted a successful Judging Day with over 2,100 student participants. Thanks to the FFA Alumni, parents, and community supporters who made the event possible. Plans are already underway for 2027!

Keytesville R-III

Congratulations to the Lady Tigers for winning the championship and the Tigers for securing 3rd place in the Keytesville Athletic Booster Club 4th-6th grade basketball tournament. Special thanks to the community volunteers and parents who helped make the event a success.

Keytesville/Northwestern students in grades 7-12 had the opportunity to ride pep buses on March 7 to cheer on their Thunder teammates in Brunswick’s quarterfinal win. Now all eyes are on the upcoming Final Four on March 13.

In other news, Keytesville FCCLA members attended the Region 3 Spring Awards in Macon, bringing home multiple honors. Senior Hannah Keiser received a full tuition Central Scholars Valedictorian Scholarship from Central Methodist University, totaling $118,120. Congratulations to Hannah and all the outstanding FCCLA students!

Mrs. Meyer’s 6th grade science class recently created terrariums to explore the water cycle, with guidance from the FFA greenhouse team. Students had a hands-on experience observing evaporation, condensation, and precipitation in a mini ecosystem.

Upcoming Keytesville events include FCCLA Hat Days and the FBLA Krispy Kreme fundraiser, with proceeds supporting state contest participation in Springfield, Missouri.

Northwestern R-I

Northwestern students also support the Thunder Sports Co-Op. On March 7, students traveled on pep buses to cheer for Brunswick and their combined Thunder teammates in the basketball quarterfinals. With the Wildcats advancing to the Final Four, anticipation is building for the game on March 13 in Columbia.

Northwestern students continue to shine academically as well. Congratulations to all advancing to the CLAA Spelling Bee and to Payton Spencer, who recently completed a carpentry job shadow through the Rootéd Program.

Weekly updates include staff appreciation, the ongoing Scholastic Book Fair, and upcoming FFA contests and quiz bowl events.

Salisbury R-IV
