This bill, banning US Congressmen and their spouses from trading stocks, was inspired, in large part, by Nancy Pelosi, and her husband, Paul Pelosi’s, stock portfolio gains exceeding $100M since Nancy Pelosi joined Congress in 1987. Although the previous Congress did not vote on Senator Hawley’s PELOSI Act, in April, 2025, Senator Hawley reintroduced the PELOSI Act before the 119th Congress.
