Texas DPS pursued a smuggler of illegal aliens in Webb County on a high-speed chase that resulted in a crash. The human smuggler, Carlos Alejandro Hernandez Briones, was driving a red Chevrolet Tahoe and refused to stop for DPS troopers. After crashing the vehicle, Briones, along with two illegal aliens jumped into the Rio Grande to swim to Mexico. The two illegals made it successfully while Briones was not able to make it.
