Mexican cartel members were arrested after the bodies of five missing Mexican musicians were found along the US border on Thursday. Investigators began searching for members of the music band Grupo Fugitivo after they were kidnapped on Sunday night. The deceased bodies were discovered on the Mexican side of the border just south of McAllen, Texas. According to local reports, relatives of the musicians received ransom demands before the group of men was reportedly found badly burned in the city of Reynosa in Tamaulipas. The US State Department currently advises against all travel to Tamaulipas, Mexico, due to kidnappings and cartel violence, especially in the border region of Reynosa.
