A group of high school students in New York recently volunteered to restore the gravestones of hundreds of veterans at Mount Calvary Cemetery in the western part of the state. This happened in honor of Memorial Day last week, but it’s an important story so we wanted to feature it. The United States of America would be better off as a country if more young people were encouraged to take part in activities like this one, which not only reinforces respect for the people who died defending our nation, but also teaches our country’s history.
