Democrat California Rep. Nanette Barragán claimed that President Donald Trump is targeting “peaceful protests” as a video of a burning car played next to her during an interview with CNN on Sunday. There have been riots all over Southern California as far-left agitators attempt to stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. Barragán was speaking with anchor Dana Bash about the riots during CNN’s State of the Union. “The president is sending the National Guard because he doesn’t like the scenes,” Barragán said, while the network played video footage from the riots. “He doesn’t like the scenes of people peacefully protesting.” As Barragán discussed “scenes of people peacefully protesting,” a video of a car engulfed in flames played beside her.
